Our Vision and Mission
Our Vision
Where we picture First Free in the Future
Sharing God’s story through compassion and conversation
Our Mission
Why we do what we do
First Free makes urban disciples by experiencing life in Jesus.

Our People
The people of First Free are part of several communities characterized by density and diversity. Our church campus is located in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood, a vital urban playground known for its unique shops, small theaters and distinctive restaurants. Our neighborhood also reveals the hard edge and paradoxes of city life: isolation within a crowd, the juxtaposition of wealth and poverty, traditional and non-traditional families, pleasure seekers encountering addiction.
We seek freedom and fullness of life in Christ and believe that God is forming us in ways that are relational, compassionate and artistic. We exist to make disciples who make disciples by engaging with God and experiencing transformation through grace and truth.
Our calling is to establish a contagious Christ-centered church that serves as a launch pad to further God’s Kingdom among people here, near and far.
Our Beliefs
We believe that God is revealed most clearly through the person and work of Jesus and that in Jesus we receive God’s grace to become His children through faith. Our doctrine is consistent with the historic Christian creeds and is summarized in the doctrinal statement of the Evangelical Free Church of America.
