Director of Worship Arts directs music, visual, and performing artists/teams to cultivate an environment of worship. They lead congregational worship during Sunday services and special services/events through art, prayer, silence, confession, scripture, and sacraments. They also fulfill the responsibilities for the welcome coordinator deacon role. The expectation is to focus approximately 75% of their hours on worship arts and 25% on fostering a culture of welcome within the church.
Knowledge & Education: Relevant Bachelor’s degree (e.g., music performance/education, pastoral ministries) or combination of relevant experience and education
Skills & Abilities: Excellent management, organizational, leadership, and training skills. Characteristic traits of compassion, creativity, program development, vision, leadership, mentorship and a cooperative spirit. Must possess a basic understanding of instruments and soundboard technologies, as well as knowledge of sacred music across genres and generations.
Experience: Two to five years progressive responsibilities in pastoral ministries or in the fields of ministry leadership, music, visual or performing arts
Compensation: Housing in a 2-bedroom apartment by the church with small cash stipend.
