Study on LGBTQ+ Issues in the Christian Faith
This Summer, the elders and deacons of First Free began a guided study around the differing perspectives of LGBTQ+ issues within the Christian faith. Our goal is to better understand the stories and experiences of LGBTQ Christians, and to explore different views and interpretations of the applicable Biblical passages. Ultimately, we want to love our LGBTQ siblings and neighbors well. The Elders and Deacons are engaging in this in -depth study, but we encourage everyone in the church to join a Colossian Way group this fall, which is designed to help us have healthy and loving conversations around topics we often disagree on, in this case — human sexuality.
The Elders and Deacons Study is broken up into four sessions, and we’re currently half way through. We wanted to share the resources with everyone, not only for transparency’s sake, but also so you can engage with the resources as your time and interest allows. As the sessions continue, the resources here will be updated.
