Dr. Keturah Platt
“I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at Cornerstone Counseling Center of Chicago, with a PhD in Clinical Community Psychology from DePaul University. I am passionate about supporting individuals across the lifespan, providing compassionate and comprehensive mental health services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. I also provide pre-marital and couples counseling to help partners build stronger and healthier relationships.
I have extensive experience providing counseling services in various settings, including community mental health centers, schools, after-school programs, private practice, and faith-based settings. This diverse background allows me to understand and address the unique challenges faced by individuals and families in different environments and life stages.
With an eclectic therapeutic approach, I integrate evidence-based practices that best suit the unique needs of each client. My primary modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic therapy, and trauma-informed, strength-based approaches. I value the importance of recognizing and integrating the diverse aspects of a person’s life and am open to incorporating spiritual elements into therapy for those who seek it.
I believe that each individual is the expert of their own life story, and I strive to create a safe, reflective space for clients to engage in deep self-exploration. My goal is to empower clients to align with their core values and navigate life’s challenges with resilience, growth, and purpose, in order to foster a more meaningful and fulfilling life.“
